Biography

Nola Olsen has been employed by the Occupational Respiratory Epidemiology Group (ORE), School of Population Health since 1991, managing occupational cohort databases, performing regular linkages to update cancer and mortality registrations. In addition to this role she acts as the Research Officer for the Western Australian Mesothelioma Register. This involves researching all cases of mesothelioma notified to the Western Australian Cancer Registry to discover and document exposure to asbestos, smoking history and any other relevant details. All cases are presented to the committee on a regular basis where diagnosis is confirmed and exposure coded. She has worked in this role since 1995.
