Biography

Nivedithaa Divakara is currently a doctoral candidate within the Centre for Immunology and Breastfeeding Team (CIBF) at the Telethon Kids Institute. Her research endeavours revolve around comprehensively elucidating the intricate mechanisms underpinning various health challenges prevalent in infants, such as allergies, infections, and nutritional deficiencies. She has special interests in fundamental science and hopes to use her knowledge to prevent/treat high risk infants using colostrum inspired bioactive derivatives. Proficient in a spectrum of wet-lab techniques, Nivedithaa specializes in the quantitative analysis of immune bioactive components present in breast milk. She is currently studying the importance of early life diet (colostrum) and its role in skin development. Among her other contributions is her involvement in the SYMBA Randomized Control Trial, investigating the effects of prebiotic supplementation in pregnant and lactating mothers on childhood allergy outcomes. Within this initiative, her responsibilities encompass discerning the influence of prebiotics on the composition of breast milk. Additionally, she is also skilled in harnessing the power of data analytics tools such as R and R-Studio for comprehensive data analysis.
