Nick is a Cardiologist in the Cardiometabolic clinic of Fiona Stanley Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. He graduated from Medicine with Honours [MBBS (Hons)] from the University of Western Australia and trained in Western Australia where he obtained his Cardiology Fellowship [FRACP]. His interests are in preventive Cardiology and Cardiometabolic medicine, having undertaken a Clinical Fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes, a Master of Science in Preventative Cardiovascular Medicine [MSc], and the Foundations of Cardiometabolic Health Certification Course, obtaining the credential of Certified Cardiometabolic Health Provider [CCHP]. He also has an interest in cardiac imaging, having completed a Master of Clinical Ultrasound [MClinUS] and the National Board of Echocardiography certification exam (ASCeXAM).

Nick is an early-career clinical researcher who has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles in cardiovascular medicine and a book chapter on lipid care in diabetes mellitus. He is also an Editorial Fellow with the journal Heart, Lung and Circulation. He was awarded the Strachan Memorial Prize (Raine Medical Research Foundation) for the best published research by an early-career clinical researcher, was a recipient of the Western Australian Health Research Fellowship and has completed a Master of Clinical Research with Distinction [MClinRes (Dist)]. His current research is supported by the Western Australian Future Health Research and Innovation Fund, Athelstan Saw Clinician Researcher Training Scholarship.
