Nick graduated from a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Western Australia. After completing Basic Physician Training at Fiona Stanley Hospital, he gained further experience as a Registrar in the Intensive Care Unit and then as a Senior Medical Education Registrar. He is currently undertaking Cardiology Advanced Training within WA Health.
Nick has an interest in preventative Cardiology, having undertaken a Clinical Fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes with a focus on Cardiometabolic medicine. He is currently a Registrar in the Cardiometabolic clinic of Royal Perth Hospital. He is also developing an interest in cardiac imaging, having completed a Master of Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne.
Nick is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and is actively involved in teaching, quality improvement and research. He has completed a Master of Clinical Research with Distinction from the University of Western Australia with a thesis titled “Quantitating the biological variation of cardiac troponin in health and disease states to optimise the diagnosis of myocardial injury”. He was also a recipient of the WA Health Research Fellowship and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
