Personal profile


Nathalie Boukpeti's research focuses on soil characterisation, laboratory testing and constitutive modelling. Nathalie joined the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems(COFS) at UWA in July 2007, following post-doctoral positions at the Universite Catholique de Louvain and the Universite of Liege, in Belgium. Nathalie was awarded her PhD and MSc from the University of Minnesota, USA, and her Engineer Diploma from the INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquees) of Lyon, France.

Effects of sampling disturbance on characterisation of fine-grained soils
Laboratory measurement of soil sensitivity
Settlement prediction of subsea foundations on carbonate soils

Industrial relevance

Design of infrastructure both onshore and offshore relies on the determination of soil parameters from laboratory tests. Understanding and recommending suitable methods for testing soils is of significant assistance to industry in the field of civil, mining and offshore engineering.
