Biography
Muhammad Hafiz Riandi is a PhD candidate in Management and Organisations department at the UWA Business School, The University of Western Australia, supported by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) Scholarship. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Universitas Merdeka Malang, Indonesia, which he earned in 2014. Hafiz dedicated several years to building his career before returning to academia to complete his Master's degree in Management from Universitas Merdeka Malang in 2021, all while balancing his responsibilities as an administrative staff member.
Between earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Hafiz gained a wealth of professional experience in various roles. He began his career as an export-import marketing staff member at PT Gradial Perdana Perkasa, a shoe manufacturing company, in 2015. In 2016, he transitioned to a sales professional position at PT Astra International Tbk – Daihatsu Sales Operation. His subsequent role from 2017 to 2022 was as a staff member in the Islamic Development Bank 4-in-1 Project Implementation Unit at the State University of Malang.
In 2022, Hafiz commenced his academic journey as a lecturer in operations management at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia. During his two years in this role, he successfully supervised 12 undergraduate students through their thesis projects, helping them graduate before he moved to Australia for his PhD studies.
Hafiz's research interests lie in operations management, information systems management, and the integration of information systems within operations management. His current research examines the challenges and impacts of Industry 4.0 technologies in supply chain management, focusing on the relationship between organizations' readiness and capability to implement these technologies and the optimization of their use in supply chains. In 2021, he published a paper, as the first author, titled "Conceptual Model of User Satisfaction as Mediator of E-Learning Services and System Quality on Students' Individual Performance" in the International Journal of Research in Engineering, Science and Management.
