Biography

Dr. Ghulam Mubashar Hassan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at The University of Western Australia (UWA). He earned his PhD from The University of Western Australia (Valedictorian), Masters from Oklahoma State University (CGPA:4.0/4.0) and B.Sc Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar, Pakistan. His research interests are artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, medical imaging, optimization, and interdisciplinary problems. He is founder of AI Augmentation in Modern Medicine (A2M2) which explores the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the field of healthcare.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Hassan has authored numerous journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, with work spanning artificial intelligence applications, computer vision systems, and machine learning methodologies. He has received multiple research awards including AAEE Research Design Awards, UWA ECR Awards and best research article awards.

In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Hassan is recognized for his commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship. He has received multiple teaching excellence awards and actively supervises higher degree research students in areas of his research interest.
