Biography

Mohamed Awad is a Ph.D. candidate (near completion) and an academic at UWA Dental School, The University of Western Australia.

Mohamed is an affiliate member and college examiner of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), Australia.

In 2013, Mohamed obtained a master’s degree and completed a 3-year clinical training program in conservative dentistry at Alexandria University, Egypt.

For over nine years, he worked as a university lecturer and specialist dentist at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU) in Saudi Arabia. He gained extensive experience in academia, clinical work, research, and administration during this period.

In 2022, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Turku, Finland.

In 2025, Mohamed obtained a Diploma of Primary Care Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

With 27 peer-reviewed articles and 2 published abstracts (including 21 as first author), Mohamed’s research interests focus on restorative dentistry, particularly adhesive dental materials and techniques.

He is an active editorial board member at BMC Oral Health and a reviewer for 19 indexed journals, including Dental Materials, Operative Dentistry, Odontology, and Clinical Oral Investigations.

In addition to his two research grants awarded by PSAU in Saudi Arabia, Mohamed is also a principal investigator grant awardee of the Australian Dental Research Foundation (ADRF).
