Biography

Milad is an experienced Clinical/Research Medical Radiation Practitioner-RT at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and a PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia (UWA). His clinical experience covers a broad range of advanced radiotherapy techniques, including CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy, proton therapy, advanced treatment planning/optimisation, image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy.

After completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at La Trobe University and a Master of Radiation Therapy at Monash University, Milad gained experience across several leading Australian cancer centres, including Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre, Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, Alfred Health, and SCGH. 

Milad has a strong interest in clinical research and trials, with a particular focus on advanced radiotherapy techniques and patient-specific treatment approaches aimed at improving treatment precision and reducing treatment-related toxicities. Through his involvement in the implementation and optimisation of several radiotherapy techniques at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, he developed a growing interest in clinical outcomes research and evidence-based practice, which led him to pursue a PhD at UWA. His research focuses on stereotactic and particle radiotherapy for complex and rare tumours. His PhD investigates the comparative outcomes of photon, proton, and carbon-ion radiotherapy for spinal and sacrococcygeal chordoma and chondrosarcoma.

Milad is also a member of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), and the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) Proton Therapy Reference Group. The group collaborates with RANZCR and ACPEM to prepare practitioners for the establishment of Particle Therapy centres in Australia.
