Biography

Miguel is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Business Analytics at the UWA Business School. With over 15 years of research and professional experience, Miguel specializes in sustainable policy, blending expertise in transport systems, behavioural insights, and public policy. He holds a PhD from USYD Business School, approaching the implementation of sustainable policies from an interdisciplinary research perspective, and an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Before joining UWA, he held positions at the University of Sydney Business School and the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) while working with industry and government outside academia.

Miguel’s research explores the interplay between behavioural science, sustainable systems, and disability research, particularly how attitudes shape perceptions of accessibility and inclusion. His teaching integrates practical, student-centred approaches, using game theory and data storytelling to prepare students for real-world challenges. Beyond academia, Miguel enjoys delving into philosophy, comparative religion, and the intersection of consciousness and behavioural science.

By integrating storytelling, active learning, and interdisciplinary insights, I aim to teach and cultivate a lifelong passion for learning in my students.
