Personal profile

Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer at The University of Western Australia. In the past, I have worked at the University of Adelaide, Flinders University, and at CSIRO. Between March'23 and June'25 I was the Social Media Coordinator for the Australian Mathematical Society (AustMS).

My research interests include: complex systems, artificial intelligence, social network analysis, human-centric cyber security, and health analytics. My current work focuses on predicting population-level events in Australia, detecting fake news and misinformation, AI-driven influence, and modeling polarisation on social media. I am also working on models to improve executive decision-making using methods from complex systems.

I have received AU$1.26Mn in Research Funding as the Lead CI (Investigator 1) and AU$1.64Mn in total from National and International grant agencies. The grant bodies include DFG (Germany), DAAD (Germany), University of Münster (Germany), DIP, Department of Jobs, Tourism and Industries(JTSI) WA, and National Institute of Health UK. This includes one National and one International fellowship, both awarded in 2025.
