Biography

Maureen is a researcher with a very strong interest and expertise in international and national politics and the interface between politics and the law. She holds a BA (Hons), a Master of International Relations with a Master of International Environmental Law, and a PhD in Law. Maureen's area of research interest is international and comparative environmental law and policy with particular emphasis on water law, policy and governance. Her research explores international and national laws for the conservation and management of rural water, as well as multi-level governance systems. Her most recent area of research includes the intersection of climate change with freshwater law and policy; the role of scientific knowledge to promote policy formulation; and the value of the water-energy-food nexus (WEF nexus) to facilitate greater cross-disciplinary/sector collaboration.
