Biography

Dr Marwan Ahmed is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a multidisciplinary background in clinical pharmacy and public health. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a Master’s in Pharmacology, and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Western Australia. His doctoral research focused on the impact of diabetes during pregnancy on health outcomes among Aboriginal infants in Western Australia.

Dr Ahmed is an overseas-trained pharmacist, a registered pharmacist in Australia, and an accredited medication review pharmacist. He has worked in hospital, community, and research settings.

Dr Ahmed’s research interests include perinatal and cardiovascular epidemiology, with a focus on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. He works with linked administrative data to contribute to public health knowledge and inform approaches to improving health at both community and population levels.
