Biography

Dr. Mariana Atkins is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Impact UWA since 2018. She is a human geographer and planner who has been involved in conducting evaluations and research projects across various sectors including ageing and aged care, homelessness, unemployment and disability. Mariana has experience in program and evaluation design and the development of quantitative and qualitative research methods, and teaches in the Outcomes Measurement courses.

Mariana is an Associate Investigator for UNSW’s Ageing Futures Institute and has extensive research and planning experience in developed and developing countries.  She has a PhD. in Geography and Planning from the University of Western Australia, an MSc. (Distinction) in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and a BA(Hons) in Geography from University College London. Mariana is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.
