Biography

Manh VU is a Ph.D. Researcher and Teaching Fellow at the UWA Business School, part of the University of Western Australia—one of the nation’s leading research‑intensive institutions and a proud member of the Group of Eight (Go8). His research focuses on the Economics of International Migration, with a particular interest in how refugee arrivals shape the economic and social outcomes of host communities.

In addition to his research, he teaches economics, econometrics, statistics, and quantitative methods across the UWA Business School and the ULAW School of Management. His teaching has been recognised through multiple awards, including the UWA Business School Excellence in Teaching Award (Jin‑Boon Law Tutor category) and the ULAW Excellence in Teaching Recognition (Lecturer category).

Manh’s academic journey is supported by several prestigious scholarships and distinctions. He received an offer for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Scholarship for the Doctoral Degree Program—awarded to only three Vietnamese scholars in 2023—as well as the UWA Business School Scholarship and the Project89 Vietnam Scholarship. These honours highlight his academic excellence and his commitment to impactful research and high‑quality teaching.

With a dedicated focus on the Economics of International Migration, his work contributes to a deeper understanding of one of the most pressing global issues of our time.
