Biography

Dr. Maike Stentenbach is a postdoctoral scientist within the Centre for Respiratory Health, Medical School, University of Western Australia, based at the Institute for Respiratory Health.

She completed her PhD in November 2023 in the area of mitochondrial biology where mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiovascular disease and cancer were investigated. 

Her current research focuses on investigating the effects
of organelle dysfunction, particularly in mitochondria, in lung disease pathogenesis such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
