Biography

Dr. Maduka Subasinghage is a senior lecturer in Business Analytics and Information Systems within the Management and Organisations Department at the UWA Business School. She serves as the coordinator of the Master of Business Information and Logistics Management program at UWA. Maduka has over ten years of lecturing experience in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to her academic role, she has industry experience as a business analyst in the software development sector. Her research interests are at the cutting edge of technology and management, focusing on areas such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, information security, and knowledge management. Her scholarly work has been published in leading journals, including Information and Management (ABDC-A*), The Journal of Knowledge Management (ABDC-A), Enterprise Information Systems (ABDC-A), Communications of the AIS (ABDC- A),  Information Systems Frontiers (ABDC-A), Journal of Systems and Information Technology (ABDC - B), VINE: The Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems (ABDC-B) among others.

Supervisions 

Maduka has supervised one bachelor’s degree with honours, three master’s and one PhD student to completion and currently supervising two PhD students. She is accepting PhD, MPhil, Master's, Honours and Work Integrated Learning students. 

Industry relevance

Maduka has industry experience as a business analyst in the software development sector. She has also led and collaborated on research projects with companies in areas such as software development, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and supply chain management. Her research interests are at the forefront of technology and management, with a particular focus on big data analytics, artificial intelligence, information security, and knowledge management. She is highly receptive to new ideas and open to engaging in industry collaborations that bridge academic research with practical applications.

  • December 2024: Leader of one of the four winning teams in the Paper-A-Thon competition at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the premier conference in the field of Information Systems, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
