Biography
Mackenzie Bougoure is completing a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master's in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science. Her research explores how autistic individuals experience burnout, examining the psychosocial and environmental factors that influence risk and resilience, as well as the mental health impacts linked to burnout in autistic populations. Additionally, her project seeks to improve the understanding and measurement of autistic burnout.
Her broader research interests include the development of inclusive and affirming supports for neurodivergent individuals and exploring the role of minority stress in mental health outcomes. As a provisional psychologist, Mackenzie is passionate about providing individual-centred, neurodiversity-affirming, strength-focused and evidence-based care that promotes well-being.
