Biography
Dr Elizabeth Triche is a Paediatrics Consultant with a passion for working in underserved communities. She was a health Peace Corps volunteer in a rural coffee-picking village in Honduras for two years before earning her Medical degree at Cornell University in Manhattan, New York. She earned a Master of International Public Health degree at Sydney University as a Fulbright scholar and trained in Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco through their "Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved" training program. She did medical rotations in Swaziland and Guatemala during her training and took her first pediatric consultant job working in Ethiopia for a year and a half, caring for sick children and training Ethiopian doctors through the Baylor Global Heath Corps. She then moved to the remote US Commonwealth Pacific Island of Saipan, where she worked to build a high-quality Pediatrics department and provided pediatrics care for 7 years. She moved to Australia during the covid-19 pandemic in 2021 to join her Melburnian partner during the border closure and worked all over Australia in Sydney, NSW; Bunbury, WA; Gladstone, QLD; Tweed Heads, NSW; and Adelaide, SA before finding a home as a paediatric consultant helping to build the Paediatrics Department at Albany Health Campus in July 2022.
She has always had a passion for teaching and mentoring so joyfully joined the Albany Rural Clinical School as a medical Coordinator and Senior Lecturer May 2024.
