Lisa has worked in burns research since 2009 working on a variety of studies involving both adult and paediatric burn patients. She completed a PhD in 2018 at UWA; the topic explored psychological recovery after adult burn. This was followed with 2 years of post-doctoral work funded by the Raine Foundation developing knowledge about coping after burn. Her work in burns research continues at predominantly at the paediatric burn unit leading the research team with a variety of linked, synergistic projects that assess short-term and long-term outcomes after burn. 

Lisa has worked in clinical trials and academic research since 2002, following a career in critical care nursing. She is familiar with quantitative and qualitative research design, statistical tests and interpretation, and presentation of results. She has coordinated phase III and IV studies in the areas of cardiology, stroke (acute), intensive care, rheumatology, gynaecology, reflux oesophagitis, Parkinson’s disease and burn care and treatment.

Lisa has a strong interest in burn prevention, has a Master of Public Health, and has been active member of the ANZBA (Australia and New Zealand Burn Association) burn prevention committee since 2011, and more recently the WA Consumer Product Advocacy Network and other injury prevention groups.
