I welcome enquiries from prospective PhD candidates seeking a co-supervisor in applied linguistics, including through collaborations with Australian and international universities. My research spans interactional pragmatics, epistemic stance, L2 spoken communication, and AI-mediated and classroom interaction.
Dr Leei Wong is an interdisciplinary researcher in applied linguistics and higher education whose work examines language, interaction, assessment and responsible AI. Her current research investigates how independently demonstrated communicative competence can be distinguished from prepared or AI-assisted performance, with implications for assessment validity, language education and higher education policy. Her research connects interactional analysis with educational practice and extends across culture and history. At UWA, she is an Adjunct Research Fellow and registered HDR Supervisor (Level 1), with internationally connected research collaborations across Japan and Asia.
