Personal profile

Biography

I am a Research Fellow within the University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science, where I also completed my PhD in 2018. My PhD examined the role of cognitive processing in body image and eating disturbances. Since commencing my role as Research Associate in 2019, I have continued to build expertise in this unique line of research by establishing research collaborations with leading national and international research groups in the field. As a Research Fellow I also contribute to teaching undergraduate courses and supervising research students.

Research interests

My research examines the role of cognitive processes, such as biases in the processing of food and appearance-related information, in body image and eating disturbances. I also have an interest in developing novel cognitive interventions to alter maladaptive cognitive processes, with the aim of building resilience to eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder.
