I am a moral and political philosopher. My principal research specialisations are in democracy and climate justice, though I also have interests in workplace justice, egalitarianism, the history of political thought, collective action, global justice, ethics, and meta-ethics.
I am also a Fellow of the UWA Public Policy Institute, Co-ordinator of both the Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and the Bachelor of Human Rights, and Chair of Philosophical Studies in the School of Humanities.
With my friend and colleague Nin Kirkham, I am also the co-creator and co-host of the Human Rights in Global Perspective Podcast, available here.
I teach (and co-teach) a range of undergraduate units at UWA, including;
- HUMR1001: Human Rights in Global Perspective
- PPHE1001: Equality, Liberty, and the Market
- HUMR2001: Global and Environmental Justice
- PPHE2211: The History of Political Ideas
- PHIL3008: Rationality and Society
- PPHE3001: Rational Choice Theory
- PPHE3327: Contemporary Political Theory
I would be happy to hear from prospective research students (honours, masters, or PhD), and would be happy to supervise in any area of moral or political philosophy in the analytic tradition.
When I’m not writing or teaching, I love to be outdoors cycling or hiking.
