Biography
Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia since 2009, working in the Data Intensive Astronomy (DIA) Program of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) to research, design and implement Petabyte-scale data flows and high-performance scientific computing for the Square Kilometre Array. More recently, responsible for the Translation of ICRAR software capabilities into industry. These include live Machine Learning systems to correct sea state forecasts on the NW shelf; a ML systems to identify the type of nectar bees have collected to make honey; an ML system testing the honey for adulation; a ML system for improving the accuracy of wind, temperature forecast, and a system to provide advice for Digital Assistive Technology for people living with a Disability. Before joining ICRAR, he held adjunct positions at UWA, Curtin University and Murdoch University whilst working full-time in industry.
