Personal profile

I am a registered pharmacist, researcher and educator. After becoming a registered pharmacist I pursed a professional career in the community setting. From here I developed an interest in the ideals of pharmacy practice and commenced work in the Master of Pharmacy program at the University of Western Australia. I have been responsible for a number of diverse teaching roles, including unit coordination, lecturing, tutoring, curriculum development, and implementation of new programs into the curriculum. My current focus is directed towards developing a research profile, whilst maintaining teaching and professional activities.

My overarching interest is in public health, health education and the quality use of medicines.

Current research priorities include:

  • The development of an online lactation care support system (LactaMap) to assist with the medical care of mothers and infants experiencing difficulty with lactation.
  • The development of an online lactation glossary for science and medicine, LactaPedia.
  • Professional communication in community pharmacy.

Teaching overview

Current teaching roles include:

  • Pharmacy practice clinical tutoring
  • Immunisation for pharmacists
  • Primary care lecturing
