Kenny is dual qualified - admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in Western Australia, and an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore. He graduated from Murdoch University with a First Class Honours in Law and received the Vice Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence (awarded to the top 2% of the university cohort). He also holds a Master of Laws (with High Distinction average) from the Australian National University.

Kenny also teaches at the School of Law, Murdoch University and was previously elected to Murdoch University's academic governing board.
