Biography

Juliano is a Research Fellow at COFS/UWA responsible for the development, planning, execution, and management of cutting-edge research projects that focus on anchoring systems for floating offshore wind. He brings 9+ years of combined international experience in industry and research in offshore geotechnical engineering, field and laboratory testing, pile and shallow foundations, embankments on soft soils, slope stability, retaining structures, tunnels, pavements, and dams.

After completing his PhD in Offshore Geotechnical Engineering from UWA/COFS in early-2022, Juliano worked as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the Fugro GeoConsolting team in Perth. He returned to UWA in late-2023 as a Research Fellow to work on an industry linkage project entitled:  Securing Australian floating wind developments with helical anchors, in partnership with the University of Dundee and Ocean Infinity Australia Pty Ltd, and its subsidiary company Geowynd Offshore Engineering. Juliano is also involved in other industry projects, consultancy work and supervision of a PhD student.
