Biography

Currently, my postdoctoral research focuses on developing robust bioinformatics pipelines to ensure the safety of phage preparations for therapeutic use here in Western Australia. My interest in computational analyses has taken me from preclinical assessments towards preclinical discovery. I began to characterise a number of antimicrobial peptides (endolysins) in silico, derived from genomics data towards the end of my PhD and used this data to obtain seed funding to investigate this avenue further. This is an on-going project and my long-term goals are to continue using computational methods to accelerate the traditionally costly and time-consuming lab experiments required for generating preclinical data.
