Biography
Dr. Jonathan Ravn Karlsen is a research fellow at the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Center (DFCRC) and previously held research positions at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Digital Currency Cooperative Research Center.
He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a Master in Applied Economics and Finance (AEF), and a Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration (Ha Almen) from Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Jonathan’s research focuses on digital finance including the economic benefits from Digital Finance innovation and the unintended facilitation of illicit activity including darknet markets, ransomware attacks, and money laundering. His research interests also include several aspects of financial markets – market integrity and financial misconduct including market manipulation and insider trading. He is published in the Review of Financial Studies:
