Personal profile

Biography

I’m a geographer and spatial data scientist. My research focuses on the fusion of socio-economic, climatic, and environmental datasets to advance understanding of how climatic and environmental changes impact society and to develop solutions to these challenges. In particular, I’m passionate about the development and application of open-source GIS and geospatial technologies for monitoring environmental resources and analysing, understanding, and managing human-environment interactions.

I have expertise in programming, statistical data analysis, GIS / geospatial application development, and mobile GIS. I’m proficient in the use of various statistical, GIS, and remote sensing software and technologies. I collaborate widely across research, government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. I have recent experience working in Australia, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Pacific Island Countries. Alongside my research activities, I develop and deliver GIS and geospatial data analysis training for a range of audiences spanning university education to government officials.

Please visit the Livelihoods and Landscapes site to learn more about geospatial applications we are developing and using to map agricultural landscapes in Pacific Island Countries.
