Biography
Dr Joel Paton is a Podiatrist holding a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (Dist) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology; Microbiology and Immunology) from the University of Western Australia. He currently demonstrates and lectures Anatomy and Human Biology under the School of Health and Clinical Sciences, UWA Medical School and School of Human Sciences at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.
In 2023 he was Awarded a Teaching Excellence Award (Early Career) for his teaching in ANHB1102 - Anatomy and Human Biology II: Being Human.
His manuscript, conducted in conjunction with Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the Western Australian Ballet Company, investigated the influence of forefoot characteristics on pointe shoe preferences in elite ballet dancers.
Clinically, his interest lay in the intersecting of sports podiatry and developmental paediatrics, working closely with elite paediatric athletes.
