Biography

Joachim joined the Media & Communication program at UWA in 2024.

 

He started working within the university sector in 2008 as a post-production specialist at the School of Film & TV at Curtin University, and was a film and media lecturer at SAE Creative Institue from 2019 to 2023. 

 

After studying Philosophy and Media & Communication at the University of Bergen (Norway), Joachim completed his BA with 1st class Honours (2004) and his Masters (2006) at Curtin University. He recieved his PhD in Cinema Studies from Curtin University in 2024. In 2021 Joachim was the editor and sound designer for the documentary The Best Battle which was Official Selection at the 2021 Revelation Perth International Film Festival.

 

Joachim is open to inquiries regarding postgraduate supervision in any of his areas of key research, including screenwriting, cinematic sound, and sound in screenwriting, particularly projects involving creative practice.
