Personal profile

Biography

I am a Research Associate and PhD student in UWA’s School of Psychological Science, working under the supervision of Dr Tim Kurz and Dr Lynden Miles. My research explores issues of identity and morality in societal change, with particular focus on the environmental domain.

In my capacity as a Research Associate, I am currently investigating the complex relationships between humans and street dogs in India as part of a large, international, interdisciplinary project (ROH-Indies) funded by The Wellcome Trust. This project seeks to understand the complex factors underpinning the persistence of rabies as a public health issue in India. My role has involved leading the development and implementation of a large-scale study into human-street dog relations across India. Beyond this, I am advancing a research agenda that explores both practical and theoretical questions surrounding human-animal relations in the context of the ROH-Indies work.

Prior to my studies and research role at UWA I spent 15 years in communications research and strategy. In this capacity, I managed and designed research projects to support the development of behaviour change programs for a range of government and private sector organisations.
