I completed my PhD degree in nanotechnology at the University of Western Australia, spending part of my doctoral studies as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (2018). My PhD focused on the design and evaluation of new materials for the delivery of gene therapeutics. From there, I was an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the Technical University of Munich, where I worked on the design and implementation of DNA origami for biotechnological applications (2020 – 2022) with Prof Hendrik Dietz. I am now a Forrest Fellow, and I aim to establish DNA origami as a field of research within Western Australia.
I model, build, and apply nanoscale interactions for applications such as biosensing and to improve delivery of drug and gene therapies. My research focus is based on designing and implementing bioengineered polymers and nanosystems for application in health, energy, and the environment. As such, my research interests and educational background are highly interdisciplinary.
