Biography

Jennifer Shand is a lecturer in English Education at the University of Western Australia. Her research interests include writing pedagogy, middle and upper school English curriculum, cross-curricula literacy, upper school Literature and young adult fiction. Recently, Jennifer has taught extensively in upper school English and Literature and middle school English from years seven to ten. She has worked at the level of Senior Teacher where she has mentored new and pre-service teachers, developed curriculum and provided professional development for English teachers in delivery of the Western Australian Literature syllabus. In previous years, Jennifer has been a Chief Marker and Chief Examiner for the Western Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
