Biography

Jemma is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia, located on Whadjuk Noongar Country (Perth). Jemma completed her PhD in Psychology at UWA, and is now working in the School of Indigenous Studies. Jemma is a CI on two NHMRC grants that aim to decolonise and broaden Western perspectives of mental health and wellbeing, and improve the cultural safety of mainstream mental health services. Jemma is passionate about supporting Indigenous-led research with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. Her research is guided by collaborative, co-designed and particpatory approaches, with policy influence.

Jemma has worked at the intersection of academic research and Government, including working for the Federal Department of Innovation, Industry and Science and for the Western Australia Police.
