Jasmine completed a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry and Pharmacology) at the University of Western Australia in 2020. Following on from this, she achieved First Class Honours in Chemistry in 2021. She currently is a second-year PhD candidate at the UWA School of Molecular Sciences, working on the design, synthesis and biological screening of small molecule drugs targeting nuclear receptors.
Jasmine’s current work entails the design, synthesis and purification of small molecule compounds that target nuclear receptors. The compounds are tested in a range of biological assays to determine their suitability and efficacy as drugs for the treatment of cancer and metabolic diseases. Her work is supervised by A/Prof. Matthew Piggott (supervisor), Dr Joost Lesterhuis and Prof. Alice Vrielink (co-supervisors).
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
Bachelor of Science (Honours), The University of Western Australia
Feb 2021 → Nov 2021
