Personal profile

Biography

While I concentrated in plant ecology for my undergraduate degree, as a graduate student at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management I focused on environmental regulation and economics. I spent 11 years in the private sector with an environmental consulting firm writing environmental impact analyses for over 60 California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents and over 20 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents for large-scale water, electricity, pipeline, and other infrastructure projects. Afterward, I finished PhD in the University of Western Australia’s School of Agricultural and Resource Economics and worked as a researcher for the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy before becoming a lecturer in the School of Agriculture and Environment.
