Iwona joined UWA in 1994 as a Lab Assistant in the Chemistry teaching labs. She became a lab technician in Chemistry in 2000 and joined the School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences with Chemistry in 2002. Iwona became a senior Lab Technician in 2009.

Roles and responsibilities

The senior lab technician in the third year Synthetic Chemistry teaching laboratories is responsible for the day to day operation of laboratories for third year undergraduate students including preparation of materials and equipment and particularly purification of solvents for these labs.
Iwona is the principal first aid officer in the MCS building. Other duties include electrical testing of lab equipment, relief in the Chemical store and assisting the Chief Laboratory Technician with equipment in the instrument lab.
