Biography

Ishita Chatterjee joined the Economics Program at the UWA Business School in 2010 after completing her PhD from Monash University. She is an applied microeconomist with interest in industrial organisation, institutional economics, demographic and development economics. Her current research focuses on human capital development and wellbeing of women and children.

Roles and responsibilities

Ishita is a committee member of the WA branch of the Economic Society of Australia, Nov 2011- March 2015, March 2017-present.

She is an Honorary Fellow at the AustraliaIndia Institute at UWA.

Ishita is involved with the Moderation of Examinations and Marking for Economics units for the University of Western Australia Foundation Program offered by the Taylor’s College, Perth, WA, Jun 2010 onwards.

She has reviewed for several undergraduate economics textbooks and regularly acts as reviewer for international journals.

She served on the UWA Business School Research Committee 2014-2018.
