Biography

Ishita Chatterjee joined the Economics Program at the UWA Business School in 2010 after completing her PhD from Monash University. She is an applied microeconomist with interest in industrial organisation, firm performance, institutional economics, demographic and development economics. Her current research focuses on the issue of son preference in India as also the gender gap in primary educational outcome in India.

Roles and responsibilities

Ishita has been serving on the UWA Business School Research Committee since Sep 2014.

She is a committee member of the WA branch of the Economic Society of Australia, Nov 2011- March 2015, March 2017-present.

Ishita is also involved with the Moderation of Examinations and Marking for Economics units for the University of Western Australia Foundation Program offered by the Taylor’s College, Perth, WA, Jun 2010 onwards.

She has also reviewed for several undergraduate economics textbooks and regularly acts as reviewer for international journals.
