Biography

Ishita Chatterjee joined the Economics Program at the UWA Business School in 2010 after completing her PhD from Monash University. She is an applied microeconomist with interest in industrial organisation, institutional economics, labour economics, demographic and development economics. Her current research focuses on human capital development and wellbeing of women and children.

Roles and responsibilities

Ishita is a member of the UWA Coursework Scholarships Committee 2023-2025; She is also a member of the UWA Business School Education Committe and the UWA Board of Studies (Management and Commerce) since 2022.

She serves as a Moderator of Examinations and Marking for Economics units for the University of Western Australia Foundation Program offered by the Taylor’s College, Perth, WA, Jun 2010 onwards.

She served on the UWA Business School Research Committee 2014-2018 and was a committee member of the WA branch of the Economic Society of Australia, Nov 2011- March 2015, March 2017- August 2020.

She regularly acts as reviewer for international journals and has reviewed for several undergraduate economics textbooks.

She is an Honorary Fellow at the AustraliaIndia Institute at UWA.
