Biography
Born 1958 in Bunbury WA, primary school and high school and 2 gap years in Albany, architecure school UWA 1980-1984 graduated BArch (Hons), started teaching and work with architect Rob Campbell specialist in conservation, and completed PhD Thesis UWA 1990. Registered as an Architect after completing practice exam in 1992, member of AIA, ICOMOS, SPAB, APTI, and Australian Garden History Society. Teaching conservation units at UWA school of architecture 1987-2018, Honorary Research Fellow UWA.
Research interests
The history of architectural design and construction in Western Australia, and the philosophy of conservation world wide
Current projects
Research and writing a series of books on the history of Western Australian building construction titled: Western Building Construction. Two books, Roofs and Walls volumes published, third volume on Floors curently in progress.
Also monitoring townscape aspects of new developments in Fremantle
