Personal profile

Biography

I am an archaeologist with over 17 years of field and research experience in Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia and Australia. I am currently a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia and the Assistant Director of the Aerial Archaeology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (AAKSAU) project.

My PhD focused on the role of gestures in Greek funerary iconography, which included the analysis of ceramics, terracottas and sculptures from the Late Bronze Age through to the Late Classical period, along with a detailed study of Greek funerary practices. My post-doctoral work has focused on Greek burial rituals and funerary iconography, as well as the identification, development and implementation of new digital methodologies in archaeology, specifically 3D archaeological recording and drone-based remote sensing, specially, multispectral analysis and large-scale landscape modelling.
