Biography

Dr. Hend Almutairi is a distinguished Research Fellow at the School of Allied Health at The University of Western Australia (UWA). She earned her PhD from UWA's medical school, where her research focused on developing effective approaches and interventions to reduce inappropriate prescriptions of psychotropic medications in people living with dementia in Residential Aged Care Facilities. Her doctoral studies were supported by the prestigious University of Western Australia International Fee Scholarship (UIFS) and the University Postgraduate Award (UPA).

Dr. Almutairi's research has made a significant impact in the field, with her work being recognised as one of the top-cited papers in the Australasian Journal on Ageing for 2022-2023. Her dedication to improving the quality of care in aged care settings is complemented by her advanced qualifications, including a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Clinical Pharmacy from Curtin University.
