Personal profile

Biography

I am currently a Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, University of Western Australia, where my work focuses on the intersection of computer science, bioinformatics, and quantitative genetics. My research is primarily centered on two areas: improving the prediction accuracy of commercially important phenotypes in plants and animals, and unraveling the complex factors that influence biological outcomes by integrating machine learning with high-dimensional multi-omic data.

I hold a PhD in Quantitative Genetics from the University of New England, Australia, a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University, Bangladesh.

Previously, I held research roles at CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency, and the University of New England. My research interests include applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize biological challenges, developing computational methods and statistical analyses for high-throughput genomic data, leveraging functional knowledge in genomic selection, and integrating GWAS with gene expression data for functional insights.
