Haitian Wang is a Research Officer at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and a Research Scientist at the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD). His research focuses on high-resolution 3D urban mapping, GNSS-LiDAR data fusion, 3D point cloud processing, and multimodal sensing for smart city and environmental applications. He has led the development of a high-precision mapping pipeline for Perth CBD, covering the full pipeline from LiDAR and GNSS data acquisition, temporal synchronization, map construction, to evaluation and publication. In parallel, he has contributed to AI-powered agricultural research at DPIRD, including UAV-based multispectral imaging, weed and pest identification, and the development of real-time decision-making platforms. His broader interests include deep learning for remote sensing, 3D object detection, and the integration of LiDAR, GNSS, and imaging systems for urban and agricultural intelligence.
