Personal profile

Gemma completed her undergraduate in Chemistry at the University of Manchester (UK), graduating in 2016. She then moved to UWA in 2018 to commence a PhD under Prof Stephen Moggach in chemical crystallography. Her project examined structure-property relationships in functional materials at high-pressure, such as mechanofluorochromism in organic fluorophores, pressure and temperature-induced spin crossover in Fe-frameworks, and structural flexibility in metal-organic frameworks. She is currently a Research Associate examining how disorder effects mechanical properties of metal-organic frameworks.
