Personal profile

Biography

I am a Senior Research Fellow at the UWA School of Population and Global Health (Genetic Epidemiology Group).

I am a genetic statistician with extensive experience investigating the genetic and environmental causes of complex traits using large highly dimensional genomic, epidemiological and lipidomic data. My current research program focusses on i) the development and application of new statistical methods to interrogate the genetics of ~600 lipid species, using both genome-wide association and whole genome sequence data, and ii) understanding the long-term health outcomes of people diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea using clinical and linked administrative health data.

Funding overview

I have been awarded > $3.1M in research grants as chief investigator, including an NHMRC project grant 'The Busselton Family Heart Study' (2016-2020).
