Garima is a PhD researcher at the UWA Business School and Institute of Agriculture, where she explores how WA's grain growers make decisions under uncertainty and interact with freight and infrastructure systems. Using agent-based modelling and stakeholder-informed design, her research aims to strengthen agri-food supply chain resilience, optimise freight systems, and inform sustainable infrastructure and policy.
She is the recipient of the UWA International Fee Scholarship, the UWA Postgraduate Award, and the Future Drought Fund’s Grower Group Alliance bursary. She holds a Master’s in Transport Planning from SPA New Delhi and a Bachelor’s in Planning from SPA Vijayawada.
Her academic and professional journey bridges research, teaching, and consultancy across transport, logistics, and infrastructure. At UWA, she has contributed to tutoring and assessment in data analytics, people analytics, and supply chain management/analytics. Previously, as Lecturer/Assistant Professor at SPA Bhopal, she designed and delivered courses in urban transport, freight logistics, and simulation-based infrastructure, and supervised postgraduate research on topics including electric vehicle logistics, modular trucking, agri-supply chains, and emergency medical transport system.
Alongside academia, Garima has consulted for government and policy think tanks in India, including NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Railways, contributing to national freight strategies, urban transport master plans, and infrastructure policy reforms.
Her expertise lies in integrating modelling, behavioural insights, and spatial analytics (including Power BI and GIS) to deliver evidence-based solutions that are both sustainable and adaptive, aligning closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
