Biography

Dr. Rwandamuriye is an Early Career Researcher at the National Centre for Asbestos-Related Diseases and The University of Western Australia, with a strong focus on translational cancer research. He is quickly establishing an impressive research track record, having published eight peer-reviewed papers—four as the first author and two as the second author—totalling over 200 citations. His PhD research, published in Cell Reports Medicine in 2023, was recognized with the prestigious Raine Research Prize in 2024. Dr. Rwandamuriye has successfully secured significant funding, including Cure Cancer Australia and a Cancer Council project grant as Chief Investigator. His current work is centred on developing mRNA-based immunotherapies for the treatment of solid cancers, with expertise in pre-clinical surgical models, drug delivery, and biomaterials.
