Personal profile


Dr Francesca Brailsford is a Research Fellow in the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment. Francesca completed her PhD in 2019 at Bangor University, UK. Her research explored how aquatic environments respond to nutrient additions to understand the resilience of these systems to pollution events.

Francesca’s research interests lie in identifying interdisciplinary and sustainable solutions to global environmental challenges such as climate and land use change and food security. Her current research investigates the potential to improve crop yields in ironstone gravel soils across Australia’s southern cropping regions.

Francesca gained Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in 2017 while contributing to teaching alongside her PhD at Bangor University. She has experience in creating and implementing lecture series, running field and laboratory practical sessions and supervising undergraduate projects.
