Biography

Fiona is the Node Leader for UWA node of Metabolomics Australia. The UWA node is one of five NCRIS nodes around the country that house staff and equipment dedicated to servicing researchers and industry interested in small molecule analysis. Fiona oversees a team of skilled researchers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality metabolomics data and insights to support diverse research projects. She has an extensive background in clinical and analytical chemistry and previously served as a Scientific Director of the Scottish Trace Element and Micronutrient Diagnostic and Research Laboratory where she has made contributions to the understanding of trace elements and micronutrients in human health. Her research  interests include markers of human nutrition and their interpretability during systemic inflammation.
